The History of Sudoku: From Mathematical Theory to a Global Puzzle Craze

Back in the 18th century, before the puzzle was even named, the conceptual roots of Sudoku origins and early Sudoku history can be traced to Swiss Mathematicians, who created a Latin Squares Mathematical framework, a grid-based system where one symbol can only occur once in each row and each column, which can be traced even further to early number puzzle traditions in newspapers in France as early as 1895.
